About us
The RIPPL BA in Film and Media Studies aims to train professionals with a comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic imaging, cinematography and media. The program is freshly formed and dynamically evolving, with a strong focus on filmmaking. The aim of the studies is to introduce students to the enriching practices of the moving image, who, with the technical and theoretical knowledge acquired, are able to shape and develop the culture of the moving image.
In addition to a grounding in film and media theory, students will learn about genres and the specificities of film language. Our practical training introduces students to dramaturgy and production through script development and storyboarding. Through teamwork and individual film projects, students will acquire skills in directing, cinematography, acting, editing, sound editing and post-production.
Our courses emphasise the production of documentaries that are sensitive to social processes, life stories and community phenomena, as well as 2d and 3d animation on a wide range of subjects. Graduates can continue their studies in MA programmes at Hungarian and international institutions or find a job in the profession.
For applicants
Our BA in Film and Media Studies is open to those interested in film directing and editing, cinematography, multimedia or animation. The program is characterised by its practical orientation, professionally acclaimed tutors, close links with exhibition and practice venues, and a variety of workshops, filming and creative camps. The results of the latter are reflected in the successes of our students at film festivals, which are created in our recording studio and multimedia lab. In addition to cinematographic practices, the program includes film history and theory, media theory, 3d modelling and animation, and multimedia. We offer the possibility to specialise in documentary, filmmaking and cinematography. Our graduates can continue their
studies in MA programmes in Hungarian or foreign institutions, as well as find employment in film production, animation, television and advertising studios, and theatres.
